We have developed extensive knowledge and experience of inspecting a wide range of turbine types having conducted over 2000 inspections and condition assessment projects across the globe. All works are conducted under strict health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment on all inspection sites.

Our highly qualified and experienced team perform the following inspections:

Wind turbine service and repair is a key area of expertise and our track record in this area is extensive. We offer services from a single technician to complete service teams co-ordinated with full project and site management and multi-scope solutions – including vessel provision and tool setup. We have experience with of all the major European turbine models, covering all scheduled maintenance and unscheduled services.

We offer a range of industry-leading blade inspection and repair techniques – we are competent at working with all major blade types following turbine manufacturers’ specifications. Our technicians are highly trained and have experience in using all methods of accessing blades to undertake repairs – rope access, blade platform and Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPs).

In addition to general and end of warranty blade inspections, we offer a range of blade repair services, which include:

  • Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • ROAV inspection
  • Composite repair works

Rolling blade repair

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier are experienced at repairing blades on the deck of our jack-up vessels in a continuous process from turbine to turbine. This highly efficient approach minimises down time and ensures the best quality repair.

Our specialist jack-ups Brave Tern and Bold Tern have 800t cranes, and spacious decks (3,200m2) allowing maximum flexibility – ideal for this type of campaign.

HV Management and Repair
HV Management and Repair

We are uniquely qualified to offer servicing and commissioning of the HV, MV and LV equipment for offshore wind farms. Our technicians have broad experience of HV installation and management of offshore assets.

Our services include:

  • Inspection of switchgear and transformers
  • Installation of MV and HV switchgear 10 – 66 kV: Ormazabal, Siemens, ABB, Alstom
  • Test of control signals to and from: switchgear, transformers, smoke detectors,
    temperature, pressure, oil level, SF6 gas
  • Installation, termination, testing and replacement of LV, MV and HV cables.

Marine Co-ordination and Logistics

Effective site and remote management of our clients’ offshore assets forms a major part of our O&M offering. We act on behalf of our clients to ensure that wind farms are maintained and operated in line with relevant legislation, guidelines and best practise  and that issues affecting production are rapidly resolved.

Effective Marine Coordination is enabled with the leading Marine Management System, SeaPlanner – provided by our partnering company, SeaRoc Group.

SeaPlanner is supplied on the basis of Software as a Service (SaaS) and is hosted in a highly secure 3rd party data centre to maximise uptime, prevent operational loss through system redundancy and ensure maximum data security.

SeaPlanner provides an integrated, efficient method for managing:

  • Inductions
  • Personnel certification
  • Personnel and vessel tracking
  • Manifests
  • RAMS
  • Permit to Work

  • Marine licence documentation preparation and submission for decommissioning works relating to offshore wind infrastructure
  • Consenting advice for decommissioning of whole projects or part of a project
