Case Study: Hornsea One
25 September 2019, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up installation vessel Bold Tern successfully finished transport and installation of the 91st Siemens Gamesa SWT-7.0-154 turbine on Hornsea One. Hornsea One is the world’s largest offshore wind farm consisting of a total of 174 turbines.
- 5 February 2019: Bold Tern begins installation
- 25 September 2019: Final turbine (91 out of a total of 174) installed by Bold Tern on Hornsea One
- At 120km from shore, Hornsea One is the furthest from shore an offshore wind farm has ever been built
Being part of installing the worlds’ largest wind farm to date is part of our vision of supporting the quest to establish tomorrow’s offshore wind giga parks. It’s more than wind and sea. It’s power for the people, and we can pass it on to the next generation.
