We have done everything we can to make New Tern operate as sustainable as possible by optimising solutions that benefits both the sea, the air, and the power consumption. New Tern will have a reduced environmental footprint and provide outstanding efficiency in all operating conditions. Its green features include minimising emissions, reducing energy consumption, and maximising energy recovery. Furthermore, power production has been optimised through a hybrid power plant, and the vessel is prepared for potential future fuels.

Utilises own energy production

New Tern utilises energy from her own movements to recharge the batteries, and she uses the power on board the vessel for cooling systems and heat production.

Uses rechargeable power stations

New Tern recharges via rechargeable power stations in harbours, which enables us to run the entire vessel and her operations on green energy. This way, New Tern only uses the absolutely necessary energy.

Green solutions

Re-circulation of cooling water, Energy storage system, Heat recovery on main engine and chilled water, LED technology, Shore power, and preparations for future fuel. These are some of New Tern's many new green solutions.
